Hey Sexy Mommas.... I have pretty constant Acid Reflux... my throat constantly stings....... What are some good fruits that will not hurt my throat? oranges, tangerines, kiwis even strawberries hurt when they go down... Bannanas feel good but they are so filling... So wondering what types of fruit feel good going down the throat... I love fruit and really want to eat lots of fruit for the last couple of months of pregnancy..... Thank you!

As great as pregnancy is, reflux hurts, I had it from the moment I was pregnant with my son till he was born, the only thing that kept mine at bay was starchy things like bananas, potaoes, and crisps(aka potoe chips)! hence my huge weight gain. As for your question, I am struggling to give you any suggestions, as most fruit contains some sort of acid and it is the acid that can cause it to be so sore. Have you taken any chalky preparations to help put the fire out?
Perhaps try dried fruit, altough I image it may have the same effect though:(
hhmmm what about advocado's, melon,or even persimmons(sharron fruit), as I think they have less acid, or what about turning your fruit into a smoothie?

hmm, my baby has really bad reflux and I'm introducing solids right now. So far he's only had sweet potato and squash, no fruit yet. Now I'm wondering if fruits will upset his reflux too? Any moms of reflux babies have any problems introducing fruits?

do apples bother you? they seem not too acidic, like citrus fruits are. or maybe melons would be milder too?

How old is your baby? Most 'spit up' clears up after 6 months or so, so it should be mostly over by the time you're adding solids (my babies were big spitters, and also a little slow on the liking of solids, though I don't know that the two are related). Banana is a pretty good 'first fruit', as far as I'm concerned (some people say wait on the fruits and get them used to non-sweet foods first)

I didn't think that babies' spit up was acidic enough to irritate their throats, but it occurs to me that I have no idea at all whether it actually might.

well, my baby is 8 months old now and loves his fruits! He likes the yellow vegetables, and is picky with the greens. I haven't noticed any acid reflux problems with solids/fruits, and now that he is sitting upright and pulling to stand, he's a much happier baby. So for me, yes it's true that after six months they do better.

    Apples and bananas are great
Citrus and other acid foods are bad for acid reflux, but still try them in moderation they are beneficial to other parts of your pregnancy.
Tomatoes are so beneficial but they are bad for reflux, too much acid, maybe try in moderation.
High Fats are bad even chocolate : (

Talk to your doctor before you try any of this and look up heartburn.about.com for food lists or try Web MD and take that to your doctor before you change your diet.

I wouldn t recommend fruit. But milk, the calcium in the milk will cancel out the acid in your stomach.
Altough some people get heartburn from milk ! So check with your MD.
I have a slight allergy to vanilla, which will give me terrible heartburn. Stay away from too much sweets.
WHen I had heartburn during my pregnancies, bubble water sometimes worked, always had a bottle of San Pelegrino next to my bed.
HB will be worse at night because you lay down, so try to sleep propped up, if possible.
