Hello all, I'm planning to make a study of the topic of belly dance for pregnancy, labour & birth. I've enjoyed many of the posts on this tribe. Can anyone steer me towards books, articles (preferably referenced but I'll read any and all), websites, and dvd's on the subject. I'm a very enthusiastic but inexperienced belly dancer. I'm also a childbirth educator and doula. I'm hoping to pair up my two favorite passions.

Fri, May 1, 2009 - 8:07 AMThere are at least 3 videos that have come out in the past year- I think Gilded Serpent had a review of a couple of them recently (if not, I think one is in the works) I know World Dance did one, & Veena & Neena I think- but you'll have as much luck with a google or amazon search as I would. It is out there though.
old school- you might hunt around for Delilah Flynn's video- it is out of circulation now, don't I wish I still had a copy! you can still get her Dance to the Great Mother performance vid tho.

Tue, June 30, 2009 - 10:04 PMI havent been able to (mostly because I never looked) find any belly dance pregnancy videos but one I thought was interesting that my sister in law bought was Orgasmic Birth.. There were parts I had thought were a bit hmmm overly dramatic? But overall I found it very very interesting and informative. I believe there was even a woman who danced thrue her labor -
