dance anywhere® is an international conceptual performance that will take place on the first day of National Dance Week: April 25, 2008 and is a Cornerstone Event for Bay Area National Dance Week.

This geographically complex work, is an open invitation to all: to stop and dance wherever they will be at noon in San Francisco, 3 pm in New York, 9 pm Paris or Rome...on April 25, 2008 or at the same time wherever they will be. other time zones

The concept for dance anywhere® blurs the line that seperates art and dance from our daily lives.This is public art that does not need to be in a gallery, museum, or a stage.

dance anywhere® is about the transformation of familiar and ordinary locations. It slips dance / art into the experience of both the performer and the audience -who are present without expectations of a performance.

It brings everyone's awareness to the space they are in: the street, the office, the library, the grocery store or park etc.... and brings awareness to the change that dance and art brings as it converges with the surrounding environment.

dance anywhere® is about shifting assumptions and heightened awareness, and generating dance anywhere and everywhere simultaneously.
